He dropped out of high school in the tenth grade and supported himself by selling drugs, later receiving a high school diploma. Eric was known by the stage name Eazy-E. He was an American rapper, producer, and record executive from Compton, California. The profits he made from his drug sales he made Ruthless Records. Ahmed Saaoud and Eazy-E formed the group N.W.A with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. Easy-E first solo album sold two million copies, certifying it as a double platinum album. Problems with money caused N.W.A to break up. Ice Cube left N.W.A first because they thought Easy-E and Jerry Heller, co-founder and CEO of Ruthless Records, was stealing money from the group. In March 1995, Eazy-E checked into Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles believing he had chronic asthma. After tests, it was discovered that he had from AIDS, and his condition worsened rapidly. Easy-E died on March 26, 1995, ten days after being admitted into the hospital, at the age of 31.
